B&B near Castle Stuart golf course Inverness

Castle Stuart golf course

Great news for Inverness and the Highlands!

It’s been confirmed yesterday that Castle STuart golf course is hosting the Barclays Scottish open being held from the 7th to the 10th of July 2011

A great achievement as this wonderful golf course only recently opened. I’m not a golfer myself but heard good stories from previous B&B guests of the course.

We will be looking forward to welcoming golfers and spectators of the Castle Stuart Scottish Open championship and no, we will not raise our prices for this event. Our daily rate stays at £80 for a double room.

John O'Groats sign post
Today our guests are leaving Inverness to take a day trip to John O’Groats where they will see the world famous sign post. John O’ Groats is famed for being the most northerly place on mainland Britain.

What we didn’t realise is that John O’ Groats actually takes its name from a Dutchman called Jan de Groot, who set up the ferry service to Orkney back in 1496!

Today you can take boat trips from John O’ Groats, such as around the wild cliffs of Duncansby Head that are up to 200 feet high and are home to many nesting seabirds. For more info on John O’Groats and links to accommodation and places to eat see the excellent web site VisitJohnOGroats.com

See below a map and driving directions from our B&B to John O’Groats. According to Google it’s 120 miles and will take about 3 hours. We look forward to hear all about their trip when they come back later today.

Thanks to our first guests this year, Bob and Nancy from the US, we got our first review on our new online booking page. And it’s 5 star! Delighted with it, thanks Bob and Nancy!

We enjoy it getting feedback ( good or bad) as it is a valuable measurement of how we are doing with the B&B and this latest review is we think spot on. We don’t pretend to be a 5 star B&B, our room might not be the biggest and our car park is certainly one of the smallest, but we like to give our guests a warm welcome and wow experience whilst staying with us.

Our B&B, probably Inverness smallest B&B, offers comfortable accommodation with warm and excellent service. We hope to get many more “Bob and Nancy’s” this year and look forward to a busy and sunny Inverness summer!
